Handmaids of Mary is a formational group for high school girls who wish to learn more about our Heavenly Mother and grow in their devotion to her. Devotion means not only praying to her, but most importantly imitating her virtues and seeking her guidance in all things as we strive to draw ever closer to Jesus her Son.

Handmaids are encouraged to complete the St. Louis Marie De Montfort 33-day consecration to Jesus through Mary, wear the Miraculous Medal, the brown scapular, and strive to be a model of Marian piety. Our theme is: "O Mary, may all who look at me see only you."

The Handmaids seek to make a difference in the school first by changing ourselves so as to be more Mary-like. Then, we seek to assist the school in growing in love and appreciation of Mary by providing opportunities for prayer and spiritual growth, and by praying for our fellow classmates, faculty and staff.

Throughout the year, the Handmaids have periodic meetings which include prayer, consecrating ourselves to Mary, news and plans for growing in devotion to Mary. We also have gatherings to celebrate Marian feast days and get to know the IHM Sisters. This year we had a pre-game party at the Convent before a home football game, a Christmas party at the IHM Motherhouse in Wichita, and we plan to have an Easter celebration and a school's out picnic. During Lent we have special daily practices. School-wide events include an all-school living Rosary during the month of October and May crowning.
