Community Service Hours
Service Hours are required in all of our diocesan high schools to help form our students into true disciples of Christ. Service is the natural expression of our discipleship. They help one to grow in holiness after the image of Jesus who “came to serve and not to be served” (Matt 20:28). We hope the following guidelines will ensure that the purpose of service hours is being met at TCHS.
Service hours constitute approximately 5% of the religion grade.
Categories for Service Hours
All students are required to complete 5 hours of service in each of 4 categories, for a total of 20 hours per school year, (two categories must be completed by the end of the first semester). All service must be performed outside of school hours. The student may not be paid for the service. Please check the service hour form for specific requirements for each category. Students can count hours for the upcoming school year starting in June.
Deadlines:
- Fall Service Hours are due by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011.
- Forms turned in after this time will be counted for the Spring Semester.
- Spring Service Hours are due by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012.
