Graduates of any Catholic High School in the Diocese of Wichita who are either presently in or plan on entering Pharmacy School are invited to apply for the Gessler Scholarship. The Gessler Scholarship was created in honor of William Gessler, Jr. and provides financial assistance to students persuit of a degree in Pharmacy. Deadline for application is December 1, 2007

Judy L. Ruedlinger Award (posted December 6)

The University of Kansas Alumni Association presented three outstanding Student Alumni Association leaders with Judy L. Ruedlinger Awards of $1,000 each for spring 2008

The Judy L. Ruedlinger Award honors the first Student Alumni Association advisor, who was known by her students as "Judy Rudy." The award was established to maintain commitment and involvement of past, present and future members of the Student Alumni Association at KU. The award is granted to those who convey pride in mempership, public awareness of the Student Alumni Association and a sense of permanance, strength and integrity in the organization. Ideally, it is also meant to encourage Student Alumni Association members to join the KU Alumni Association after graduation and continue contact with the unversity.

The Judy L. Ruedlinger Award Fund is managed by KU Endowment, the independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fundraising and fund-management organization for KU. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is the first foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university. THe awards were presented Nov. 27 at the Adams Alumni Center.

From Hutchinson: Rachel Barnes is majoring in history and in Leadership Studies. She is the daughter of Leland and Nancy Barnes and is a Trinity Catholic High School graduate.
